Introducing a solution that is designed for high performance, versatility and simplicity in installing long HDMI cable runs; called the Long-Runner 5PL. An HDMI extender that is based on HDBaseT™ technology, and that can handle all the main elements of an installation: audio, video, Ethernet, power, and control. It can route uncompressed audio and high-resolution HDMI signals with full HD 1080p from the source up to 328 feet (100m) to an HD display or a projector. For starters, the Long-Runner supports PoE (Power over Ethernet), providing power to the receiver at the remote location. Plus, it provisions full 3D (all formats) and resolutions up to 4Kx2K (four times the 1080p) with multichannel audio, IR, and RS-232 extension over a single Cat5e /6 cable. It is fully compliant with HDCP, EDID, and CEC controls. And we’re not done yet: It also spreads Ethernet to connected TVs or computers for online access remotely from the transmitter set when connected to a LAN network. It provides IR and RS-232 serial control to back channel AV sources over a single Cat6 cable extension. With the built-in IR blaster, simply point the IR remote(s) at the display to control the HD sources as if they were located in the same room as the display. So you are getting a full feature package with your extender, making the Long-Runner 5PL good for use in situations that require long cable runs with extensive control over the displays…such as digital signage, home theater environment and healthcare applications.

Purely, the fact that traditional HDMI extenders or baluns uses two CAT5e cables to transmit audio and video signals at limited distances less than 150ft, KanexPro Long-Runner 5PL breaks the distance barrier by extending remote distance up to 330 feet on a single CA5e/6 cable. The product also saves time, money, and conduit space by utilizing a single, non-proprietary CAT5e cable to send HD video, digital audio, IR, RS-232 and Ethernet signals. Converging AV with IT applications, the Long Runner 5PL integrates an Ethernet port which spreads Ethernet to connected TVs or computers for online access remotely from the transmitter set when connected to a LAN network. With built-in IR and RS-232 serial interface, the long-runner is ready to be integrated and controlled with any third-party control systems such as AMX, Crestron etc. It offers an uncompromised solution to the distance limitations of HDMI, expanding lengths up to 330 feet while maintaining all required protocols and formats. Uncompressed Digital Audio Formats are also supported including Dolby TrueHD, DTS Master Audio, and 7.1 Surround Sound. Most of the HD Baluns in the market does not support all these formats with high bandwidth of 10.2Gbps. Power over Ethernet (PoE) - Is a game changing feature on this extender, which sends power to the receiver at remote location. This helps eliminates excess or unwanted power drain and also gives ultimate freedom to the display or projector from being tethered to the AC outlet. Compared to other extenders in the AV market, KanexPro Long-Runner 5PL is fully compliant with HDCP and EDID; it also supports CEC for one-touch control of multiple devices.
