MSRP: $269.99

Delivering industry-leading Gigabit AC wireless speed of up to 1700Mbps (1300AC+450N), the D-Link Gaming Router 5000 (DGL-5500L) is designed for flawless gaming and HD video streaming to multiple devices. The Gaming Router 5000 is equipped with GameFuel powered by StreamBoost designed to provide unique value by intelligently and optimally allocating Internet bandwidth to each application and device in a home network. StreamBoost constantly manages the user’s Internet connection and automatically updates to accommodate traffic from new devices that are added to a user’s home network.

In addition, GameFuel offers a simple, intuitive user interface for complete home network management. GameFuel’s user interface includes a graphical depiction of the bandwidth used by the entire home network, each device on the network is displayed, as well as the application in use on each device. Users see this interface through any device with a web browser, and use intuitive controls to prioritize each device on the network. GameFuel with StreamBoost also incorporates mydlink services to ensure that each router always has the latest detection and policy profiles, offering best-in-class performance out of the box, and the ability to improve over time. In addition with SharePort support users can easily share media/files from a connected USB drive to their smartphones, tablets or DLNA award devices.

Features

Equipped with GameFuel from StreamBoost, the Gaming Router 5000 features the first consumer router platform that can intelligently manage Internet traffic by both application and device. StreamBoost first analyzes the traffic that is flowing through a router to quickly determine which applications are running. It can also detect other important information such as the resolution of the device that is running the application or a particular video stream, whether or not it is latency sensitive. StreamBoost's policy engine then applies an optimal policy to that traffic flow in relation to the others that are going through the router to ensure each flow is being given the optimal amount of bandwidth. For example, StreamBoost ensures a streaming video gets the optimal amount of bandwidth based on its resolution, an online game gets low latency, and large file downloads, torrents, and updates get the remaining available bandwidth. This is an advanced form of traffic management that gives consumer routers the power to fully optimize the user's Internet traffic.

GameFuel with StreamBoost incorporates a cloud-based service that ensures that each router always has the latest detection and policy profiles. The router will offer best-in-class application performance out of the box, and will improve over time as the detection and policy algorithms are constantly improved via the cloud service.

A browser-accessible interface gives users a graphic representation of the home network in real-time, so that every device, and the current application on that device, is visible to the user. They then will be able to see the bandwidth usage from each application or device. The interface can be used to adjust the priority of each device to ensure the best experience for a particular home network . Thus consumers' favorite online activities which require network responsiveness, such as streaming content or engaging in multiplayer online gaming, are never compromised.

Benefits

Consumers are weary of choppy video and VoIP call quality as well as online games that require an optimal network response. Customers may blame their ISPs or their end point devices, but the truth is that most of these problems are related to two things: 1) how the application uses the network; and 2) how the home's router is dealing with the traffic generated by each application.

Featuring GameFuel with StreamBoost, the Gaming Router 5000 intelligently manages Internet traffic by both application and device. StreamBoost first analyzes the traffic that is flowing through a router to quickly determine which applications are running. The Gaming Router 5000 then applies an optimal policy to that traffic flow in relation to the other applications that are going through the router to ensure each flow is being given the optimal amount of bandwidth. This is an advanced form of traffic management that gives consumer routers the power to fully optimize the user's Internet traffic. In addition, the Gaming Router 5000 incorporates a cloud-based service that ensures the router always has the latest detection and policy profiles.
