SoundSense, LLC dB Focus Tube

SoundSense Engineers are dedicated to developing unique solutions with high-quality results.  Our Engineers are responsible for field testing and inspecting the installation of these solutions.  SoundSense developed a portable acoustical testing device, the dB Focus Tube, to enable our Engineers and Installers to test installations quickly and effectively.The device is hand-held, portable, and easy to use. SoundSense’s field testing proved that the mechanism can be utilized by an acoustic engineer or trained installer to locate even the smallest of leakage points in a partition which, when sealed, could increase the FSTC performance of the partition by typically 10 points.  Additionally, when an engineer is trying to determine the main paths of flanking, this tube proves to be an ideal mechanism for facilitating this problem solving method.  The installer can use the focus tube to confirm the optimum efficacy of the acoustic treatment by pointing it at a partition and using a sound level meter on the others side that can then be used much like a Geiger counter to locate the inefficiencies.
