The GefenTV 4x1 Switcher for HDMI with Audio Decoding delivers a 5.1 audio breakout for easy surround sound audio. It is designed for any room where you want to implement 5.1 surround sound in a plug and play fashion. The 4x1 HD Switcher w/Audio Decoding is a video switcher/audio decoder that provides four HDMI inputs, along with one coax, one optical and one L/R analog audio input. A Blu-ray player, gaming console, set-top box, and CD player can all be connected. One HDMI output delivers video as 1080p full HD to any hi-def display with support for 3DTV pass-through, and audio as 5.1 surround sound using standard RCA connectors. To perform digital audio decoding, it uses Dolby Pro Logic II technology, offering a quality deliver of digital audio in surround sound format. Users can also select audio from either digital audio or the L/R analog audio inputs. In each case, the audio will be processed and delivered as 5.1 channel audio, enabling high quality surround sound. The system uses RS-232 control and 12v triggers to allow interaction with any home automation system to turn the Amplifier on/off. It comes with an IR remote or front-panel selector buttons for easy access and control.

This next generation audio/video processor supplies a centralized, one-box solution that can integrate four hi-def sources using HDMI, and decode audio to create 5.1 surround sound audio, offering system integration and audio processing in one, convenient solution. Surround sound audio is output using one of the four HDMI inputs or the optical, coax or L/R analog audio inputs. For a typical home entertainment scenario, you can connect a Blu-ray player, AppleTV, iPod, CD player, set-top box, a laptop and PS3. When any HDMI source is selected, video is delivered in hi-def resolutions up to 1080p full HD with 3DTV pass-through, ideal for forward-proofing systems. Multi-channel HDMI audio is delivered as 5.1 surround sound using standard RCA connectors. When the optical, coax or L/R analog audio inputs are selected, audio is delivered as 5.1 surround sound using the same RCA connectors. Front left and right channels are bi-amped, properly balanced to achieve the maximum benefit. The GefenTV 4x1 HD Switcher w/Digital Decoding uses Dolby Pro Logic II technology, one of the highest quality methods of digital audio decoding available today. It is perfect for processing signals to an amplifier or for connecting directly to surround sound speakers. The mini LCD on the front panel gives status information; front panel buttons offer access to the on-screen display menu options, volume and power control. An IR remote and RS-232 port offer additional methods of control including 12v triggers for home automation integration.
