This Honda Fit EV has been modified so that it can charge up via DC power from the home’s solar panels or a stationary battery. This will eliminate up to half of the energy that is typically lost to heat during DC-to-AC and AC-to-DC power conversion. According to Honda, the vehicle can fully charge in about two hours, when the solar panels are generating electricity at full capacity.
