I go to the movie theater often and Im getting a plan together for my home theater. I have TB’s of low quality movies from Deployments over seas. We would just pass around external HDs and take what we wanted from each other and buy pirated copies from the locals.
If I try to play these movies on say, a 42” TV the picture is blurry. I understand why because the video is formatted for something the size of an Ipad. Question #1 to any Pro is, what is the best picture quality movies available to the public for a home theater set up? I want to run a projector and know very little about how big of a screen I can build. Can a Blue Ray movie look as good projected on a wall, as it does on my 42” tv?
Question #2 - If in fact BR is the best picture quality I can get for this set up, can I expect something better in the near future? My old roomate spent well over $2000 on regular dvds over the years. He had a wall just for dvds. When HD dvds and Bluray came out his collection became out dated very quickly. Should I expect the same thing to happen to me in the next few years with my BR collection? Thanks for your time.
