Shocking stuff. Penn State also lots their game Saturday. Must’ve been heart wrenching for players and fans. I’m pretty sure they really wanted to get that win for Papa Joe. After 45 years, he still deserves hall of fame type recognition for all he’s done and accomplished. How many coaches can you name that have been able to maintain that length of tenure. Not many, and they’re probably will never be that many.

Hats off to you Paterno. Yeah, you screwed up BIG, but you’re still a legend.

Paterno definitely did things wrong. He should have went to the authorities. I agree with Penn State’s decision to fire Paterno, but sympathize with Joe and his supporters. What a class act though. Everyone makes mistakes.

Totally agreed on all fronts. By not going to the authorities right away, he put more kids in danger and let a crime (and taboo) go un-noticed. The whole move lacked proper discretion and integrity.

It’s pretty obvious that a lot went wrong this past week. Paterno definitely crossed a line, but so did his supporters by wreaking havoc on campus. Rioting and sparking violence is a “no-no” no matter what happens. It’s been a shameful week for Penn State University.

Paterno was the man, but hey, everyone makes a mistake. Unfortunately, his mistake put many other possible victims at risk. So for that, he should not be commended.

Who gives a damn. Go Michigan!

Paterno should be ashamed of himself. It was time to move on for him anyways. Too bad he went out like the old codger that he is.

R. Craig, you insensitive jerk. Everyone makes mistakes. Seriously, what would you have done. Oh that’s right, you’d never know.

Paterno’s positives throughout his career far outweigh the negative.
