Motorized shades offer a lot of wow factor for the automated home. Having motorized shades means that you can tweak a room for the perfect movie atmosphere, all at the touch of a button. It also means that you never have to walk into a sweltering room in the middle of summer. Along the same lines, you can set a timer to open those blinds at the right time in the winter and score some free heat.
Motorized shades are certainly an enticing addition. However, it can also be an expensive one. Now, Somfy Systems is making it easier to add that wow factor into any home. The company just announced a partnership with Springs Window Fashions, which will allow homeowners to walk into a home improvement store such as Home Depot, find automated shades, and install them on their own.
Bali Motorized Window Treatments offer such an option. Actually, it offers two options for those of you with a nearby outlet and those without.
Designed to make your home cooler (sometimes literally), Bali is also a nice option for hard-to-reach windows or homes with kids and/or pets. Somfy adds the motorized portion. However, for a perfect fit, you will need to measure your window and order the shade or blind from the store. Once installed, it can be controlled via a handheld remote, wall switch or automatic timer.
Motorized options are available on cellular, pleated, Roman, roller, solar and natural shades. Pricing will variety, based on the size and style. Contact your local retailer or Bali Blinds for more information.
