Revolv's Smart Home Starter Kit.

There are a lot of home automation solutions leaking into the mainstream. Revolv is hoping to stand out by offering several easy-to-install kits that will allow homeowners to create a high-tech setup that’s focused on different parts of the connected home — to a point, of course.

The company just announced several different Smart Home Bundles, which are now selling through Amazon. Beginners can start out with the Smart Home Starter kit. However, there are plenty of other options via the Security and Comfort Bundle, the Smart Renter Bundle and the Premium Home Bundle.

If you already have Z-Wave, Wi-Fi and Insteon devices sprinkled throughout the house, the company is still selling the Revolv Smart Home Hub for $299.

Otherwise, that Hub is included in the Smart Home Starter Bundle, which retails for $414. Designed to jumpstart the home automation experience, the kit also includes an Insteon appliance module, an Insteon LED bulb, and one Insteon motion sensor. Everything ties together using a smartphone or tablet and the free Revolv App for iOS devices. (Android access is expected to follow soon.)

For $773, the Security and Comfort Bundle packages up the Hub with Yale Real Living’s Touchscreen Deadbolt, a Honeywell Z-Wave thermostat, Leviton’s plug-in dimmer module, and an Insteon motion sensor.

If you haven’t made it into a permanent home just yet, you may want to invest in the Smart Renter Bundle. This option can put connected home perks into apartments, condos, rental homes and other living spaces, all for $748. That package price includes the Revolv Hub, the Insteon appliance module, the Philips Hue Starter Pack (with three bulbs), and the Sonos Play:1 wireless speaker.

Of course, we were saving the best for the last. The aptly named Premium Home Bundle includes the Revolv Hub, the Yale Real Living Touchscreen Deadbolt, the Philips Hue Starter Pack and the Sonos Play:1, as well as the Nest Learning Thermostat and the Belkin WeMo Insight Switch. That package retails for $1,231.

All of the above packages also work with several other add-on devices, via Z-Wave, Wi-Fi and Insteon. A full list of compatible products can be found in the Revolv FAQ on the company’s website. Each of those products can be integrated and controlled using the aforementioned Revolv app. Revolv also plans to add support for ZigBee products in the near future.
