A select crop of manufacturers are starting to put gesture control into new HDTVs. Now, a company named Leap Motion is extending the same courtesy to computer users — and it will only cost you $70.

Starting next month, the company will start taking pre-orders for its Leap Motion Controller. The Best Buy exclusive will then start shipping in the spring.

Designed to work with Windows Vista/7/8 and Mac OS X, the Leap Motion can track hand movements up to 1/100th millimeter. With no visible lag time, the Leap Motion Controller boasts a 150-degree field of view and can track individual hands and all 10 fingers at up to 290 frames per second.

All you need to do is connect the iPod-sized Leap Motion Controller to your computer’s USB port and install some software. The installation process also includes calibration, which the company says is as easy as waving your hand.
