When it comes to computer-based control, Mac users are a tad limited. Now Perceptive Automation wants to add options for Mac fans, with its latest software.
Just announced, Indigo 3.0 is a major update, allowing Mac users to remotely access almost any aspect of their home control. That means you can turn lights on and off while you’re on vacation, water the lawn on a hot day, or crank up the hot tub before you leave the office — all from any web browser.
The new version also provides support for Insteon’s new Thermostat Adapter, which allows for wireless control over several Venstar thermostats. That means you can crank up (or down) air in the upcoming summer months, via any web-enabled device, including the iPhone or iPod touch.
“The primary focus of this release was to add the additional home automation hardware support our customers have requested so that Indigo can provide a complete, whole-house automation solution for them,” said Matt Bendiksen, company president.
Other new functionality includes SQLite and PostgreSQL integration, a Web server plug-in architecture, improved Web server performance, refinements to the user interface, and support for other new Insteon modules.
Indigo v3.0 is available now as a download for $179.95. v2.0 customers can get a free upgrade, while v1.x users are eligible for a $90 credit.
