If you’re looking for a home automation system and a friendly distributed audio system to incorporate into it, the folks at NuVo Technologies and Home Automation Inc. (HAI) recently announced that they have enhanced their integration relationship.
Since the release of NuVo’s Grand Concerto whole-home audio system last December, the companies have been working together to implement software that simplifies the integration of their products that led to the recent announcement. The result is that NuVo distributed audio can be integrated into the HAI automation systems out of the box, with virtually no programming, for one complete system that is easy to install and easy to operate, the companies say — making it convenient for your professional systems installer and expediting your enjoyment of the systems.
The HAI touch panels offer a realistic portrayal, NuVo says, of NuVo’s Control Pads for control of the Grand Concerto and its Suite of audio source components: M3 Music Server, T2 Dual Tuner and NuVoDocks for iPod. Basic control options are available via RS-232 including power, play, pause, source and zone selection, volume control, track forward/backward, fast-forward/rewind, and tune up/down. NuVo adds that multi-command scene functions using equipment from various manufacturers can be implemented with limited programming.
HAI software version 2.15 or newer features the new protocol, and previous touch screens can be updated with this version and existing main controllers can be converted with the newest HAI chip.
