D-Link is no stranger to networking products. Now the company wants to add more networking options into your home using a little something that you already have lying around.
The company just introduced the PowerLine AV+ Mini Adapter Starter Kit. Also known as the DHP-309AV, this little product is the latest in the company’s family of PowerLine solutions. In other words, it uses your home’s existing wiring to extend the reach of your home network.
The DHP-309AV is designed to put networking options into those areas that have no or limited WiFi coverage. The back deck, the basement, or some other remote spot in the house; D-Link promises that this product can get some safe, stable networking out that way.
D-Link says that the DHP-309AV setup can deliver email and websites with a 128-bit AES encryption at up to 200Mbps. Also, the way the adapter is designed, you don’t even need to give up an outlet.
“Customers want an easy-to-install, no-setup-required solution to solve dead zone issues within their home that is both affordable and provides the needed performance for the demanding applications of today,” said Ken Loyd, D-Link’s director of product marketing. “It’s important to have connectivity throughout your home, so whether you’re in a basement, in the kitchen, or your teenager is doing homework in their bedroom, customers want an easy to install, no setup require solution to solve coverage issues within their home.
