Keypads might not have quite the same wow factor as LCD touchpanels, but you can’t live without them in your home automation systems. They’re still pretty darn sleek devices to have on your walls, and many do a good job of blending into the decor.
The new Cameo keypads from Crestron are beauties, with finished, rounded buttons and auto-dimmable backlit engraving to stand out in any light condition.
Button caps for the Cameo devices come in three sizes, so you can have anywhere from two to six buttons per keypad.
The faceplates have bright white backlighting to enhance the laser-engraved text that you can request for your keypads. The backlighting actually responds to the ambient light in the room thanks to an intelligent light sensor.
Cameo keypads also can either be wired into Crestron’s Cresnet system or as part of the company’s infiNET wireless system.
Smooth or textured finishes are available for the Cameo — smooth finishes include light almond, black and white faceplates; textured finishes have Crestron’s traditional almond, black and white.
