3Logic of Krakow, Poland is the winner of the Most Creative Application category in 2014 Lutron Excellence Awards.
The Hill Residence is a 500-square-meter, 3-floor house located near Krakow’s historical center in Poland. Surrounded by hills, there were challenges when 3Logic implemented a home control project.
Lighting was a key aspect of the home automation project. For half the year in that part of Europe, it gets dark at 5 p.m. 3Logic used a Lutron HomeWorks QS system to control artificial and natural light sources with halogen and incandescent luminaries. 3Logic dimmed modules and prepared light scenes, meeting customer demands and allowing for easier use of the property.
HomeWorks also controls inner and outer blinds. A Lutron astronomical clock manages lighting in the driveway, garage, fountain, and building facade. The lighting is also integrated with gates to the property and garage gates. The lights turn on automatically according to day time and season.
In addition, all the lights turn off when the alarm is armed and return to full power when the alarm is activated.
Lutron HomeWorks is connected with a Crestron CP3 processor. Lutron keypads are used to control multiroom zones and home cinema, open and close the swimming pool cover, activate swimming pool pumps, and more.
In completing this project, 3Logic also had to consider the possibility of a power shortage. The home control system is energy efficient and the customer has the option to operate it in eco mode.
