All year Wisdom Audio has been showing off its Insight speaker series at various tradeshows. However, this week, they are delivering another demo — along with a lot of details about what to expect from this highly anticipated in-wall speaker line.
All four of the new Insight models have newly developed planar magnetic thin-film drivers and moving coil woofers. Each one also includes traditional passive crossovers, so homeowners can pair them with a single amplifier channel per speaker.
Other features include Uni-grip system clamps and a magnetic grille that measures just 2mm thin.
All four of the speakers are sold individually, which reflects in the pricing. Speaking of which, the two-woofer P2i Point Source Planar magnetic hybrid in-wall speaker will make its debut with a $1,250 price tag, with the four-woofer P4i priced at $1,750. The P6i MTM Point Source Planar magnetic hybrid in-wall speaker will sell for $3,000, and the 48-inch L8i Line Source Planar magnetic hybrid in-wall will arrive at $5,000.
“The Sage Series has demonstrated to our partners and their clients the level of performance we’re able to achieve with application specific, planar magnetic hybrid designs for use within real rooms,” said David Graebener, Wisdom Audio’s executive vice president. “With very helpful input and feedback from many of our partners, we believe the Insight Series will enable them to deliver compelling performance for their clients at entirely new price points for Wisdom Audio. My team has enjoyed designing both the all new planar magnetic and woofer transducers for this series and a better way to install them — I can’t wait for our work to be displayed at CEDIA and heard around the world.”
Wisdom Audio has yet to say when the Insight Series will start shipping. The company is currently showing off the set at this week’s CEDIA Expo.
