VIZIO Pumps Up TV Audio with 2.1 Bluetooth Sound Stand

The latest soundbase is made to be paired with TVs up to 55 inches.

Soundbars are becoming a popular audio option. However, another similar product has been sneaking into the TV space: the soundbase.

The soundbase is just like the soundbar, except it’s actually designed to support the weight of the TV, so you can just slip it right into your current AV setup. The latest soundbase option is the VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand.

The 2.1 Sound Stand can add a bit of surround sound action to areas that are low on space. It even promises bass as low as 55Hz, thanks to a built-in 5.25-inch subwoofer. Other features include two 2.75-inch drivers, a sound pressure level of 101dB, and support for Dolby Digital, DTS TruSurround, DTS TruVolume, and DTS Studio Sound.

Also worth mentioning is that the 2.1 Sound Stand does have Bluetooth, so you can stream audio directly to the speaker from any smartphone or tablet.

The 2.1 Sound Stand is made to be paired with TVs up to 55 inches and no more than 60 pounds. Measuring just 3 inches high, it can disappear right into the setup.

“The new 2.1 Sound Stand offers extensive bass output with its built-in subwoofer and is the versatile option consumers have been looking for,” said Matt McRae, VIZIO’s chief technology officer. “Outperforming other competitive options in its class, our sound stand delivers an unparalleled audio experience and saves on space.”

VIZIO is shipping the 2.1 Sound Stand with all of the necessary cables to start rocking within minutes. It’s selling now, with an MSRP of $249.99.
