New 1080p TVs from VIZIO are slimmer and have improved LED backlighting.

VIZIO is one of the most popular TV brands in the US, so when the company launches a bunch of new products, smart TV buyers pay attention. This week VIZIO announced their M-Series line of LED LCD based smart HDTVS, which are stuffed with an assortment of apps, connectivity options and a nice-looking designs.

The VIZIO M-Series TVs (except for the 80-inch model) are all full-array LED backlit, not edge lit TVs. The biggest models in the line include 36 active LED zones. More backlit LED zones tends to mean better local dimming performance and better contrast.
