Imagine this: A whole new loudspeaker lineup from PSB Speakers. You can stop dreaming; the company just announced Imagine X.

The new Imagine X lineup includes four new speakers: the Imagine X1T and Imagine X2T tower speakers, the Imagine XB monitors, and the Imagine XC center channel. Each one has been carefully matched in timbre, with a slim design and a simulated black ash finish.

Borrowing from the design of the Imagine T2, the X2T has a three-way, dual-chamber, dual front-ported design. Inside, the speaker has a 1-inch titanium dome tweeter, two 6.5-inch woofers, and a 5.25-inch self-contained midrange driver that’s unique to the Imagine Series. Also worth mentioning is that each woofer sits in its own little chamber for the ultimate control and spatial, dynamic sound quality.

The X1T is another floor-standing model, with a two-and-a-half way design. Inside, it has two 5.25-inch woofers and a 1-inch titanium dome tweeter.

For something slightly smaller, the Imagine XB has a single 5.25-inch woofer and the 1-inch titanium tweeter. Designed for everything from multi-channel systems to 2.1 systems to main-channel use in smaller rooms, this set has the same injection-molded, clay/ceramic-filled polypropylene designs of the Imagine X towers, as well as dual magnets, rubber surrounds and a rear-facing port.

The last of the new Imagine X lineup is the Imagine XC. This is a two-way center-channel speaker, which has a pair of 5.25-inch woofers and the 1-inch titanium dome tweeter. It’s designed to be powerful enough for multi-channel systems, but is also slim enough to nestle nicely right under today’s flat-panel TVs, all without being a distraction.

“With the Imagine X, our mandate was simple — to produce the best performing speakers with the most value in the market for real people who want real sound,” stated Paul Barton, who founded PSB more than 40 years ago. “To achieve performance and value together, one must begin with performance. In the Imagine X speakers, the objective is never less than doing music justice: These are speakers that eschew any fads in favor of timeless design. Imagine X represents the culmination of PSB design expertise and the refinement of our traditional virtues. These are speakers designed to give the listener complete enjoyment and satisfaction for years to come.”

PSB is selling all four models now. The X1T and X2T are being sold individually at $449 and $649, respectively. The XB is being sold in pairs for $499, with the XC priced at $399 each.
