NYNE Packs 2.1 Soundbar into SMC-1000 Smart Media Center

The product will make its official debut at next month's 2013 International CES.

NYNE is getting a jump on the 2013 International CES frenzy, announcing the company’s SMC-1000 Smart Media Center.

The product is supposedly the first in the company’s Smart Media Centers category– which means that NYNE may be planning more down the line.

For now though, it’s just the SMC-1000, which packs in a 2.1 soundbar, with 400-Watts RMS power, two midrange drivers, two tweeters and one subwoofer with 96db SPL. The SMC-1000 also boasts a lot of connectivity, via four HDMI inputs, two USB ports, optical and coaxial digital inputs, and Apple’s Lightning dock. Other features include Blueooth and AirPlay support, a 3.5mm input, and Near Field Communication (NFC) for Android devices.

“Finally the discerning audio-video enthusiast can sweep aside those racks, stacks and wires in the living room and replace them with a high fashion, integrated media console,” said Arman Arami, president of NYNE. “NYNE’s SMC-1000 is not just another functional gear box masquerading as a TV stand. It’s a stylish media console with great sound that just happens to also be highly functional. With clean lines and a small footprint, the well-designed SMC-1000 will flatter any modern living room.”

NYNE plans to start shipping the SMC-1000 in the second quarter of 2013. The company will demo the product at next month’s 2013 International CES. The show runs from January 8-11, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
