Lansche Delivers No. 7 Speaker for $100K Per Pair

Lansche Audio of Germany is putting the Corona Plasma Tweeter into its new speaker pair.

In November, we told you that Lansche Audio of Germany was making its way to the U.S. with the $40,000 No. 5.1 speaker set. If you have a few bucks left over, the company has a little something new (and more expensive): the new Model No. 7 speaker.

Priced at $100,000 per pair, the company’s latest speaker promises to deliver the ultimate audio experience in almost any type of room setup. The company says that music should be natural and movies immersive, with a dynamic range and wide frequency spectrum.

To help deliver the audio goods, Lansche packs in an improved version of the company’s own Corona Plasma Tweeter (see below), a new aluminum front baffle, integrated adjustable footers, and bi-wiring terminals. Each speaker also has two 4-inch cone drivers from Audio Technologies, four 8.7-inch long-throw drivers for bass, and two passive bass reflex ports in the rear.

That Corona Plasma Tweeter is key, with an 8mm-long electric arc that is designed to activate the surrounding air as a “sound transmission medium.”

Measuring 69-by-17-by-24 inches, Lansche’s No. 7 Loudspeaker is available now from Aaudio Imports for the aforementioned price of $100,000 per pair. That price will get you the satin veneer finish. If you want high-gloss veneer or piano black lacquer, expect to pay an additional $8,000 for the set.
