In the audiophile community the name Krell is the equivalent of Ferrari in the world of automobiles.
Now the Connecticut-based high-performance A/V manufacturer has introduced 3D compatibility to its product line.
The company’s newly launched Evolution 707 3D, S-1200 3D, and S-1200u 3D home theater processors continue Krell’s efforts to offer the latest in digital home theater technologies, and according to Bill McKeigan, president of Krell Industries, the addition of 3D compatibility to its pre/pros validates its commitment to the category. “3D content is increasing and we are excited to bring this capability to our customers”, boasts McKiegan. “we are committed to providing the latest in surround technology while delivering the best sound and video quality in the industry.”
In addition to offering 3D support for clients that purchase new Krell products, the company is also offering 3D upgrades for original non-3D Evolution 707, S-1200, and S-1200u pre/pros. “Providing upgrade paths that preserve a customer’s initial investment has always been an important part of our corporate philosophy,” McKiegan points out. “Any customer can add 3D functionality without paying a premium to do so.”
Krell says the upgrade price is $1,500, which is the retail difference between the original and 3D capable models, and it says that clients must return the products to Krell so it can add the upgrades.
The company is also offering owners of newly purchased Krell pre/pros the opportunity to upgrade their home theater processors for free. Krell says that all Evolution 707 and S-1200 models purchased after January, 1, 2011 are eligible for free upgrades as long as consumers ship their new processors to the company.
MSRPs for the three new preamplifier/processors are:
* Evolution 707: $31,500
* S-1200u: $13,500
* S-1200: $11,500
