Don’t quite have Olympic fever? Now may be a good time to catch up on your movie watching. Instead of running out to rent from Redbox, you can order up a rental from the comfort of your couch — and save a penny or two.
That’s because from now through Sunday, Amazon is offering rentals for just 99 cents. The cost is usually $3, so this savings can add up, especially if you’re in the mood for a little film festival.
These aren’t bargain bin or obscure titles, either. We found new releases like 21 Jump Street, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and American Reunion, as well as The Dark Knight and Despicable Me.
A total of 14 titles are eligible via Amazon Instant Video, whether you’re streaming through a set-top box, a big screen, or your favorite portable device.
Just remember that once you rent a movie, you have 30 days from when you pay for it to actually start watching. Once you do start the movie, you have a 24-hour window to finish watching. Once the movie or the rental period is over, the movie will automatically disappear from Your Video Library.
