Emotiva is ending the week on a high note — as well as a low note and even a little something right in the middle. The company just announced that its XPR-1 is now available via the Emotiva website.
As part of Emotiva’s Reference Series, the XPR-1 is the company’s flagship mono-block power amplifier. It boasts 1,000 watts into 8 ohms (and 2,000 into 4), making it a nice building block for a two-channel system or a full surround setup.
The XPR-1 also has an impressive set of specs, starting with a 30-pound 2.5kVA toroidal transformer and a massive low ESR capacitor bank, which powers a Class H power amplifier. Other features include an ARM microprocessor, balanced and unbalanced inputs, heavy-duty binding posts, a 12-volt trigger input and output, an input voltage switch and an IEC receptacle.
It’s also important to note that this component looks as good as it sounds, with a 1-inch billet aluminum multi-element faceplate, laser embossing and hand-polished detailing.
“The XPR-1 is the mono-block option in our Reference Series selection of top-tier performers, which means it’s the perfect combination of massive power and stunning good looks,” said Dan Laufman, president of Emotiva. “It’s a behemoth, and I’ll put its performance right up there with some of the most popular — and most expensive — mono-blocks currently available at any price.”
Emotiva is selling the XPR-1 exclusively online, with an MSRP of $1,499.
