Sometimes, it isn’t easy to integrate your A/V components with your control system. However, there are companies willing to play nice, in order to make the transition a lot easier.
Crestron is one of those companies. The Crestron Connected program ensures that certain components will work with the company’s products, just in case you were on the fence about a certain purchase.
The latest to join the Crestron Connected program is the D+M Group, the company behind Denon and Marantz. Because of this partnership, D+M will start making select Denon and Marantz receivers with Crestron Connected technology inside.
However, if you already own a Denon or Marantz AVR, that doesn’t means you’re left high and dry — well, depending on the model. A firmware update is now available for Denon’s AVR-X3000, AVR-X4000, and AVR-4520CI, as well as Marantz’s SR6008, SR7008 and AV8801. Firmware for the Marantz AV7701 is expected to follow on March 30.
Crestron Connected doesn’t just make it easy to get these products into one room, but the entire house. As part of a Crestron system, each of these receivers can deliver sound to additional rooms, complete with control, two-way feedback, and built-in network streaming.
“By embedding Crestron intelligence in Denon and Marantz receivers, it allows for seamless communication with Crestron home automation solutions, giving installers a simplified home theater solution and homeowners complete control of their home entertainment system,” said Steve Samson, Crestron’s director of business development.
Compatible Denon and Marantz receivers can connect to a Crestron home automation system via standard Ethernet cable. From there, your installer can customize the AVR interface for source switching, volume control, internal controls, and more.
Denon’s AVR-4520CI is now certified as Crestron Connected.
