The W1070 offers that full HD 1080p 3D projection using the DLP Dark Chip 3 (DC3). While that sort of tech would typically make this one pricey piece of equipment, BenQ is listing the W1070 for just $1,099.
For an extra $200, the W1080ST offers a lot of the same features, but for just about any space. This is a short-throw full HD1080p 3D home projector, promising over 100 inches at less than 6 feet away. It also has three preset modes, two user modes, and an “Auto Blank” mode to block out light output whenever something is detected in front of the lens — something like a person, chair or coffee table.
Designed for everything from Blu-ray and gaming to cable TV and PC play, both projectors have NVIDIA 3DTV Play, DLP Link and dual HDMI inputs. Other features include a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, built-in 2-watt speakers, and ISFccc certification.
“BenQ continues to bring practical display solutions to the home for the ultimate in big screen entertainment,” said Lars Yoder, president of BenQ America Corp. “With the W1070 we have achieved a great balance between cost and performance, while the short-throw W1080ST adds flexibility to place the projector in the front of the room for a large screen projection experience. Our two latest projectors further establish BenQ as an innovative leader in home projection and ensure that home entertainment will never be the same.”
BenQ is selling the W1070 and W1080ST now for $1,099 and $1,299, respectively.
