With all of the 4K TVs being released this year, we haven’t seen as many projectors. Oh, they’re out there. They just aren’t 4K. (At least, most are not.) However, BenQ is hoping to attract a little attention, with the big, beautiful images from its Colorific line.
The company just announced two new Colorific projectors, the HT1075 and the HT1085ST. Both offer a full 1080p HD image, with the promise of over 1 billion colors and options for 3D. A new perk is that each one can deliver streaming content and mirroring options for Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) devices.
Because each one is a Colorific projector, both the HT1075 and the HT1085ST boast vivid, accurate color reproduction, higher brightness levels, crisper contrast, and more. The big difference is that the HT1085ST is a short-throw projector, designed to fill 100 inches of screen from just 6 feet away. The HT1075 also offers a new vertical lens shift option for those less interested in tinkering with alignment.
Other features include 2,200 ANSI lumens of brightness, a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, ISF Day and ISF Night modes, horizontal and vertical keystone correction, BenQ’s SmartEco lamp-saving technology, and new 10-watt chamber speakers.
BenQ will start shipping the HT1075 and the HT1085ST sometime in September. These new models have been priced at $1,199 and $1,299, respectively. BenQ is also planning to offer an optional wireless connectivity kit sometime in Q4 2014. This will allow users to send content to the projectors from up to 100 feet away, all without cables. Pricing on the kit has yet to be announced.
