B.M.C. Audio Cranks Out AMP CS2 Power Amplifier

The AMP CS2 includes a built-in power amp option.


Audiophiles, get ready for some serious frothing. Balanced Music Concept (B.M.C.) Audio just debuted the AMP CS2 Power Amplifier for the U.S. market.

When connected to a B.M.C. digital-to-analog converter (DAC), the AMP CS2 can automatically switch from an integrated amplifier with B.M.C.’s exclusive Load Effect Free (LEF) technology to a stereo power amplifier with LEF.

The amp can output two channels of 200 watts into 8 ohms (or two channels of 360 watts into 4 ohms). It also has a fully regulated power supply with a large 2kW toroidal transformer and energy storage by specially designed balanced current capacitors.

Other features include LEF amplification, Current Injection (CI), and Discrete Intelligent Gain Management (DIGM). It also has a modular construction with an aerospace-grade aluminum chassis and power and volume buttons, as well as an easy-to-read power meter. Around the back, there are two pairs of balanced XLR-CI inputs, three pairs of unbalanced RCA inputs, two pairs of speaker outputs, an optical input and output for stereo operation, and an AC power connection.

B.M.C. Audio is selling is AMP CS2 Power Amplifier now, via authorized dealers. It’s listed with an MSRP of $8,390.
