AudioXperts Launch Flat Console 4TV Speaker Systems

A single cabinet option for table-mounted TVs

There’s a new audio company in town, AudioXperts, launched by several audio industry veterans. About a month ago they told us something big was afoot. This week they came through and showed off several new products designed to solve what turns out to be a pretty common problem.

The problem is sound. TV speakers universally stink, so lots of people opt for good soundbars to replace the TV speakers. The problem is that soundbars work best with TVs that are mounted on the wall, but more than half of all flat panel TVs never get wall mounted.

Two new AudioXperts products are called 4TV entertainment consoles. They’re designed to sit under a table-mounted flat panel TV, similar, on the surface, to some speaker systems from ZVOX.

The audio systems feature smoked glass and aluminum enclosures and include a built-in swivel base allowing users to easily rotate the console and television to the preferred listening and viewing angle.

Backlit touch-sensitive flush buttons are located on top of the consoles and feature a proximity sensor that lights them up as the user approaches.

The system’s audio prowess is based on a patent-pending High Aspect Ratio Transducer (HART) consisting of a unique suspension and support system that allows the use of a large voice coil for high power handling in a high aspect ratio design. The HART driver design keeps the entire system extremely thin.

The 4TV console speakers include Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, and Bluetooth. A number of listening modes and EQ settings for music and movies, including an Enhanced Dialogue mode are built in.

The Model 5122 5.1 Surround Sound Console with separate flat subwoofer will sell for $3,999.99, and the Model 2112 Virtual Surround Sound Console (MSRP $1,999.99) 2.1 channel music and surround sound system with built-in subwoofer that delivers the equivalent bass output of a separate 8” powered subwoofer.
