If you’re the proud owner (or hope to be soon) of an Anthem A/V processor, you may be in luck. The company has upgraded both the Statement D2v and AVM 50v home theater processors for 3D video.

The company has upgraded its two popular home theater processors for new buyers and will also offer a physical upgrade (in August), in the form of a new dealer-installed mezzanine board to replace the two smaller video boards for HDMI inputs. A software download completes the upgrade.

The upgrade for both processors includes four additional HDMI inputs (for a total of eight) and one additional HDMI output (for a total of two). All inputs and outputs offer Deep-Color support (36-bit).

Both processors will go into a pass-through mode when they detect a 3D signal over HDMI. Pass through will send the 3D video signal directly to the display. In pass-through mode the output refresh rate will automatically be matched to the source’s frame refresh rate.

In addition to the new 3D feature, both systems include Anthem’s audio calibration/room correction feature that uses proprietary processing to compute each speaker’s in-room frequency response and then computes a target frequency response for each.

The upgraded Anthem D2v 3D is available now for $9,499, and the AVM 50v for $6,499. Physical upgrade kits for existing systems will be available from dealers.
