There are so many wireless home security cameras on the market these days, it can be really hard to choose which one is right for your home and your needs. You could pick one based on a specific budget or application, but even those requirements barely thin out the herd. How about looking at the one that offers a little freebie? That sounds like something that: could be a standout.
That’s probably why we’re getting this new feature for the Piper. The company just announced the 1.7.0 update, which will add free Clip Saving to all Piper wireless home security cameras.
With Clip Saving, Piper users can download and store an unlimited amount of video clips caught by the Piper directly to any portable devices. That way, you can access a variety of different: clips, which may include baby’s first steps or YouTube-worthy dog antics. You can even share them with Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and more.
If you have the Piper, you can download the new 1.7.0 update now. Once you have the update, you’ll notice downward-facing arrows next to your video clips in the app dashboard. Once you tap the arrow and the video has finished loading, it will turn into a checkmark. Once you see that checkmark, you know you can access and share it however you’d like.
To find out more about how the Clip Saving feature works, check out the video below. Of course, the Piper still offers home security, but without the monthly fees. For more about the actual camera, check out “Hands On: Piper Home Security Smart Camera.”
Piper wireless home security cameras are available now. The Classic version ($199) features 720p video, 2 megapixels, two-way audio, and sensors for motion, temperature, humidity, light and sound. For $279, the Piper NV upgrades those options to 1080p with night vision and 3.4 megapixels.
