There are a lot of wireless home security cameras, which can provide a peek at your home when you’re away from home. Several of them even allow you to pan and tilt from remote locations, in order to get a better view. However, Compro is packing a different kind of control into its latest wireless home security cameras.
The Compro TN900RW is a cloud IP camera that can actually control other appliances and even monitor the temperature in your room. Of course, the TN900RW is also a security camera, with pan/tilt/zoom and a 720p HD resolution. It even has infrared and WiFi support, so you can view images and control those additional devices using a smartphone from anywhere in the world.
The TN900RW has a built-in IR remote learning mechanism, which is what allows it to control those additional appliances. For instance, you can set the TN900RW to control a pet feeder, turn on an air conditioner, turn on lights, or even turn on the home theater system. As long as your device has a remote control, it should be compatible.
It even has a built-in temperature sensor, so you can keep tabs on the conditions in your room. The camera can even send out alerts if there is any sort of abnormal temperature change.
To set up the TN900RW, just connect it to power and your wireless router. Then, download the free iOS/Android app. When prompted, use your phone to scan the QR code on the back of the camera, and you’re all set! The camera is actually integrated with the C4Home cloud service, so you can view and control devices from the web or through the app.
Other features include 11 built-in IR LEDs, an ambient light sensor, a dual-band lens, two-way audio, an audio alarm, and a built-in microSD/SDHC card slot. C4Home also allows users to keep tabs on four cameras at once. Also worth noting is that the TN900R is the same camera without the wireless adapter. It can be upgraded, but the TN900RW comes with the wireless option right in the box.
Compro is selling both wireless home security cameras now, with the TN900RW priced at $319.
