Car Camera Throws in GPS Feature

Brickhouse Security allows drivers to record the where and what of car accidents.

Brickhouse Car Camera Voyager Pro

Brickhouse Security's Car Camera Voyager Pro records video and logs GPS data including the date, time and location of the vehicle.

It’s not hard to imagine: You are so busy trying to figure out where you are, so you run over someone’s mailbox. Thankfully, your car camera recorded the whole nasty incident.

While that may be great for “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” it doesn’t allow you to find help — or your way home. Brickhouse Security takes the car-cam one step further with GPS features in the Car Camera Voyager Pro.

Engadget says that the unit includes a G-sensor. That means your car knows when it’s been messed with, triggering the camera to record 10 seconds before and 30 seconds after any incident. How it knows to start recording makes it sort of supernatural, but we’re willing to take their word for it.

The GPS can also document where the incident happened, on the off chance that you drive around for days without noticing your bumper half hanging off.

The Car Camera Voyager Pro will be available starting Wednesday for $450.
