Jody O'Dell says
Hi, I haven’t seen a very important subject covered in this article. Lots of people are thinking about mounting their t.v. over their fireplace. They don’t consider the angle or the heat, and therefore are disappointed in the outcome.
I have an installed EDV Lenox fireplace. I would like to mount a t.v. above it (I know- Yikes). There is a faux stone surround that protects the mantel area from heat to about 8†away from the wall. beyond that, the heat reaches 165 degrees after an hour.
So here is my question. Will a heat deflector and an internal blower (it currently doesn’t have one) help lower the heat above the mantel area? How about an article on ways to fix this problem.
Thank you for any advice you can offer.
