Savant has announced a line of home-control keypads based on LiteTouch’s lighting control products, namely, the Metropolitan, Circa and Echo lines.Just three months after acquiring LiteTouch from Nortek (NTK), Savant is already incorporating the company’s technology into its line of home automation products.

When Savant Acquired LiteTouch earlier this year, Savant general manager Jim Carroll couldn’t say enough good things about the company’s stylish keypads, which he called a “tremendous asset.” Now those keypads, or ones like them, have found their way into Savant’s product mix.

Savant dropped its own touchscreens in 2010, given that the iPad and other iOS devices did such a nice (and cheap) job operating the company’s Apple-based control system. iOS devices are great for operating a multiroom audio system, but keypads are still a preferred control point for controlling lights and launching automation scenes such as GOODNIGHT.

All three keypad lines offer a vast array of custom-engraved backlit button layout options to accommodate distinct installation requirements. There are 13 field-changeable LED colors and a host of faceplate and button colors to choose from.

Savant is taking orders for the new keypads now. Metropolitan and Circa styles will ship in late June; Echo will ship in August.

The Echo lineup, offering up to ten points of control per single-gang keypad, is available in Column (vertical) configuration.

Metropolitan keypads, offering up to nine points of control per single-gang keypad, come in both Column and Wide (horizontal) configurations.

Circa is available in Column, Wide and Square styles and offers up to six points of control per single-gang keypad.
