ZigBee is big in the wireless home automation space — mainly because it’s so darn easy for wirelessly connecting smart devices in your house. It’s easy to install the products, but also easy to add on if you want to expand that system down the road. Speaking of which: BlackWire Designs has a pair of new DIY ZigBee smart lighting products to add into your ZigBee-capable setup.

The company just announced the latest options from Axxess Industries, the Axxess Lamp Dimmer and Lamp Dimmer Plus. Each one of the new solutions can provide one-touch lighting almost anywhere in the home.

Both of the new dimmers use the ZigBee standard communication, but are also compatible with ZigBee PRO (802.15.4) and radio-compliant with FCC Part 15, IC, CE and C-TICK. The slim dimmer touch slider can even be paired with a variety of bulbs, including incandescents/halogens, CFLs, LEDs, magnetic and electronic low voltage.

If you’re wondering what the difference is between the two products, know that the Axxess Lamp Dimmer Plus does have programmable touch buttons. Those four buttons allow for more personalized control and dimmer settings.

“The Axxess Lamp Dimmer and Lamp Dimmer Plus provide easy, one-touch dimmer control at an incredible value and with simple installation; something we know both integrators and end-users are looking for,” said Kevin Luther, founder of BlackWire Designs. “This is a great accessory for CI professionals who are looking to add basic lighting convenience to home a automation project, without seriously impacting budget.”

Available in black, white or silver, the Axxess Lamp Dimmer and Lamp Dimmer Plus are both available now, priced at $160 and $180, respectively.
