Vivint Solar Expands Residential Solar Services

The company promises no upfront costs for designing, installing and maintaining a solar system.

Not familiar with Vivint Solar? You must not live in Hawaii, New Jersey or Massachusetts. Vivint Solar, which is a subsidiary of automation company Vivint, is expanding. Recently, the company announced plans to roll out its services to the Aloha state.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says power prices in Hawaii have gone up 17.8 percent over the last 10 years — making it the perfect time for the company to branch out to that area.

Vivint says that the company will design, install and maintain the solar system, with no upfront costs. In exchange, the customer must agree to purchase the power their panels generate. According to Vivint, however, this cost is significantly less than a typical power bill.

“We initially launched our solar services in New Jersey and Massachusetts, and the feedback we’ve received has been phenomenal. Because Hawaii is among the leaders in the nation for providing homeowners a seamless and efficient solar integration process, the state was a natural next step for Vivint Solar,” said Tanguy Serra, president of Vivint Solar. “By using our solar service, the people of Hawaii will be able to rely less on traditional energy sources and rely more on the clean solar power their homes generate, and will be saving money in the process.”

Vivint Solar works with the customer to design a personalized system, get all of the permits, and complete the installation. Representatives are also available, if customers have questions or want to learn how to make the most of that solar system.
