Lutron shades don’t just look pretty. They save you a lot of time and energy—even your energy.
After all, no one likes running around the house to open and close shades every single day. With smart shades, you can tackle the entire task with the touch of one button. Not only does this solution allow you to be a little bit lazy, but it can let in the warmth of the sun on cold days and block it out when it’s hot.
Of course, adding an automated shading solution isn’t always easy or affordable. Lutron shades are both, though. The company just debuted Sivoia QS Triathlon WIDR roller shades, which are large, battery-powered shades that are designed to work with Lutron’s RadioRA 2 and HomeWorks QS whole-home control systems.
Don’t have one of those systems in place? These Lutron shades can also be used as a stand-alone solution, when paired with a remote or the Lutron mobile app.
Available in sizes ranging from 20.5-by-12 inches all the way up to 12-by-12 inches, these Lutron shades are perfect for homes with larger windows. Even better, they work with all sorts of decor, because these shades are available in a variety of fabric colors and textures.
Other features include smooth motion and a new headrail design. The Triathlon WID even has a new Battery Boost option, which boasts a better battery life by up to 80 percent for any battery-powered roller shades that are 38 inches and wider. This perk uses an alkaline balancing technology to improve the efficiency of standard D-cell batteries in an RF shading system. In fact, Lutron says that Battery Boost can deliver up to six years of performance.
“There is nothing like Battery Boost in the industry right now,” said Ed Blair, VP and general manager at Lutron Electronics. “Lutron extensively researched how batteries behave as part of a shading solution and has designed its systems to maximize battery life balanced while maintaining superior performance. The Battery Boost solution extends that battery life even further and is a game changer for everyone.”
Lutron is selling the Sivoia QS Wireless Triathlon WIDR roller shades now, with a starting price of $1,065. The Battery Boost option is also available, with a starting price of $70.
