Yamaha has announced a new 5.1-channel A/V receiver, the RX-V381, that boasts built-in Bluetooth for wireless music playback and full 4K Ultra HD support, offering home theater enthusiasts an elevated cinema experience. The $299.95 unit is the first in Yamaha’s RX-V 81 Series receiver line, and it is also HDCP 2.2 compliant and features high dynamic range (HDR) with BT.2020 compatibility. This provides detail for both dark and bright image content, as well as a wide spectrum of color for 4K picture quality. You also get a full complement of HD Audio format decoding, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.
“Sound editors and soundtrack composers each play huge roles in today’s feature films, and the RX-V381 allows our customers to enjoy these titles as they would in a movie theater, in all their cinematic glory,” says Bob Goedken, general manager, AV division, Yamaha Corporation of America. “Yamaha has packed a lot of advanced technology into a very affordable, solidly built AV receiver, with an unparalleled level of reliability that assures our customers that they will enjoy this model far into the future.”
The 4K Ultra HD video pass-through via HDMI 2.0 enables you to watch content in this super high-resolution format, while Bluetooth compatibility means that your personal music library on your mobile device can be streamed and played back using the receiver’s Compressed Music Enhancer feature. Finally, the RX-V381 features the Yamaha exclusive YPAO automatic calibration system, which uses a microphone to listen and analyze the sound of each speaker, then tunes the sound system to create the best possible listening experience in any type of room. The receiver is available now.
