Last fall, Onkyo introduced five new audio products. Nestled right in the middle was the CS-355 Colibrino CD/Bluetooth HiFi Mini System. Now, the company is planning another Mini option. The CS-255 CD Hi-Fi Mini System will start shipping before the end of the summer.
Designed to put big audio into a compact space, this component has a CD player, a Lightning charging dock for newer iOS devices, and a USB port. That USB option is perfect for legacy iPhone and iPod models, as well as other smartphones and tablets.
The CS-255 also packs in a digital amplifier to drive a pair of two-way speakers. Onkyo says that the cabinets have a large cone driver, a balanced-dome tweeter, and non-parallel construction with rolled edges to prevent internal standing waves.
Other features include an FM/AM radio with 60 memory presets, a 3.5mm stereo analog input, and a selectable two-mode Super Bass function.
Onkyo will start selling the CS-255 sometime in August, with an MSRP of $299.
