The soundbar used to be seen as a compromise. Maybe you didn’t have the space: or the budget for a full-blown audio setup, so you “settled” for a soundbar. (Hey,: it’s definitely better than the sound most: TVs are currently making!)
Well, the soundbar has certainly come a long way. Of course, it’s never going to be as good as a home theater room: filled with speakers, but: it could be better than some: of the speakers out there—if it’s something like the Klipsch Reference R-4B.
The Reference R-4B two-way soundbar boasts: the same engineering and design as Klipsch’s Reference home theater lineup. Measuring just 3.5-inches tall and 40-inches wide, this unit is designed to sit under most TVs. Yes, it’s thin, but that soundbar packs in two 0.75-inch horn-loaded textile dome tweeters and two 2.5-inch midrange fiber composite woofers. The tweeters are coupled with Klipsch’s Tractrix Horns to create a bigger soundfield with less distortion.
The Reference R-10B soundbar has three listening modes: (virtual surround, night EQ, and voice enhancement EQ) and a Dolby Digital decoder, as well as removable feet and keyhole mounts. It also has built-in Bluetooth support, so you can stream audio to the soundbar from any connected smartphone, tablet, or computer.
To round out the audio experience, Klipsch is including a 6.5-inch down-firing wireless subwoofer with this package.
“The R-4B soundbar delivers Klipsch’s legendary power and performance at a lower price point, which appeals to a wide audience,” said Steve Jain, VP and GM of Digital, Streaming and Portable Audio Solutions at Klipsch. “It offers users the conveniences of plug n’ play audio and instant streaming using Bluetooth wireless technology and new listening modes significantly enhance the listening experience that is lacking in flat-panel TVs today.”
Klipsch is selling the Reference R-4B soundbar now, with an MSRP of $399.99.
