JBL Synthesis is cranking out a little something to help you crank out a lot of music.
The new SK2-3300 LCR loudspeaker boasts all of the driver technologies inside the company’s flagship Project Everest DD66000 speaker. The end result promises “exceptional musical accuracy and fidelity in custom-installation multichannel home theaters and music systems.”
In other words, don’t expect to find these on the shelves of your local Best Buy. The 3-way THX Ultra2-certified speaker includes a 1-inch beryllium diaphragm for an extended frequency response beyond 50kHz. The driver is mated to a JBL Bi-Radial horn.
Other features include a 3-inch beryllium diaphragm midrange/high-frequency compression driver and Bi-Radial horns, which are made from SonoGlass material. Dual 10-inch woofers feature cones with JBL’s Aquaplas material and dual 3-inch voice coils, neodymium motor structures and cast-aluminum frames.
It also has a pretty heavy-duty enclosure, with a curved front baffle and dual binding posts.
“With the introduction of the SK2-3300, JBL Synthesis can now offer the extraordinary musical realism of the standard-setting Project Everest DD66000 in a loudspeaker that’s designed for custom installations,” stated Jim Garrett, Harman’s market manager. “In addition to its suitability as the left, center and right channels of a multichannel speaker system, the SK2-3300 is also ideal for use as a companion center channel to the JBL Project Everest DD66000 and Project K2 S9900 loudspeakers.”
