These days, there’s no excuse to not take audio with you—good audio, anyway. There are a slew of great portable solutions out there. One new Bluetooth speaker is promising to deliver even bigger sound, regardless of where you’re sitting. That speaker is known as the Theatre Box.
The Theatre Box is a portable Bluetooth speaker, but parent company Acemile says that it can actually deliver 360 degrees of sound. That means that if you’re anywhere in the vicinity of this speaker, you’ll get audio goodness for your games, movies and music.
Because the speaker has Bluetooth v4.0, it’s easy to pair with a smartphone, tablet or other compatible device. If you prefer to be tethered, the Theatre Box also has an aux-in port.
Promising to fill up to 2,000 square feet with sound, the Theatre Box has four 2-inch full-range drivers, a single 3-inch active bass driver, and dual-core digital audio processing circuitry. Other features include 125 watts of maximum power output, Q3D Holophony technology for those 3D audio effects, NFC automatic pairing, and a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery for up to 20 hours of playtime.
“As music and video consumption on mobile devices continues to dramatically increase, consumers have come to expect better sound,” said Richard Yan, Acemile’s founder. “Theatre Box is designed specifically to exceed those expectations and create an intimate surround sound experience.”
Acemile is selling the Theatre Box online now, with plans to ship sometime this month. It’s available in red, white, blue, and black, priced at $299 each.
