Logitech Gets Personal with Ultimate Ears Custom In-Ear Monitors

Ultimate Ears' Personal Reference Monitors are designed to fit, look and sound just how you like them.

There are a lot of headphone options out there. However, Ultimate Ears wants to make them how you like them.

The company just announced plans for Ultimate Ears Personal Reference Monitors, a pair of in-ear monitors that promise a personally tuned custom fit.

Parent company Logitech says that Ultimate Ears Personal Reference Monitors are designed to be a personal experience, and are engineered to each user’s fit, look and sound preferences.

How do they do that exactly? Well, each purchase starts with the company’s Personal Reference Tuning Box. This allows listeners to tailor the monitors based on listening preferences. This will adjust the highs, mids and lows in accordance to your own sound signature.

There are plenty of “standard” features, too. For instance, each pair promises 26 dB of isolation and passive noise cancellation. Also like UE’s other Custom In-Ear Monitors, this set is compatible with wireless transmission systems for the stage and portable media devices.

Other features include UE’s proprietary five-armature design, a three-way crossover circuit and triple-bore sound channels. This set also has a detachable cable, designed to reduce friction, unraveling and tangling.

Available with four custom fine-wood faceplates, each pair of Ultimate Ears Personal Reference Monitors also comes equipped with a RewardTag. If your pair gets lost or stolen, whoever finds them can claim a reward for their safe return. That’s a nice bonus, too, considering the $1,999.99 MSRP.

Logitech expects to start selling the Ultimate Ears Personal Reference Monitors this month, but only in select locations in New York, NY, Nashville, TN, Irvine, CA and Los Angeles, CA. To start the ordering process, check out the Ultimate Ears website.
