JBL Scores Country Star Tim McGraw for Artist Series Headphones

The country music megastar will headline JBL's on-ear and in-ear styles starting this month.

Singer, actor… headphone icon? Harman is hoping that the last part will soon stick to Tim McGraw’s resume. The company has just signed the country star to headline its new JBL Artist Series headphones.

The JBL Artist Series headphones by McGraw will feature two styles starting this month.

At $129.95, the on-ear model boasts a wide dynamic range and excellent bass response. The headband is made for extended listening, and the product can fold up for travel. The Tim McGraw on-ear headphones will be available in black or white.

The in-ear model has a closed-back design to kill off some of the outside noise. That allows listeners to hear music a little more clear when at lower volume levels — which are the levels you should be listening to. Each pair of in-ear headphones comes with a Tim McGraw-branded carrying pouch and three styles of swappable silicon sleeves for a comfortable fit. Available in black or white, this model carries an MSRP of $49.95.

“Music fans today should not compromise when it comes to sound,” said Dinesh C. Paliwal, Harman’s chairman, president and CEO. “Our partnership with Tim McGraw shows that musicians want to deliver audio products that represent and emphasize the acoustic quality they work hard to achieve. We think Tim McGraw’s fans — and any music lover — will appreciate these custom-designed headphones for a performance that faithfully delivers music the way the artist intended.”

According to Wikipedia, McGraw has had 11 consecutive albums debut at Number One on the Billboard albums charts, as well as 21 Number One singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. He also has an impressive acting resume, which includes roles in The Blind Side and Friday Night Lights.

Harman says that the JBL Tim McGraw Artist Series headphones will be available at select Walmart stores, Walmart.com, Guitar Center and JBL.com.
