Bose wants to truly untether you from that audio. The company just unveiled the AE2w, Bose’s very first pair of stereo Bluetooth headphones.

The new product can stream your favorite music, movies and TV shows from your favorite networked iOS portables, as well as other Bluetooth-enabled devices. It also includes Bose TriPort technology and proprietary active equalization.

The AE2w has an around-the-ear design and a light, battery-powered Bluetooth module. Bose says that this detachable module weighs about as much as the cable it replaces.

To pair devices with the headphones, just press the two buttons on the Bluetooth module and those devices will connect automatically.

Although it’s optimized to work with the iPad, the AE2w does support most Bluetooth devices with the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). It’s also designed for making and taking phone calls, via a microphone on right on the headphones.

Boasting a range of up to 30 feet, the headphones have a rechargeable battery that promises seven hours of listening or 200 in standby mode. Other features include a USB cable for charging, a fold-flat earcup design, and a travel bag.

Bose AE2w Bluetooth headphones are available now in black for $249.95. The company also has the AE2 and AE2i non-Bluetooth models for $149.95 and $179.95, respectively.
