Wayne’s NY set-up was my introduction to home theatre. His creativity and enthusiasm along with brilliant execution, made the experience one I’ll never forget. I’ve seen photos of the condo theatre - beautiful! I know he’s built systems for other people - if he ever comes back to NY, I’m signing up!

Agreed.  What a load of clueless Bluray fanboy drivel How about Onkyo’s HD DVD player? I for one am glad there’s two competing formats. Heaven forbid if HD DVD didn’t come out of the gate with it’s act together, to push Bluray to improve it’s early product.

Joe M, the reason for hd dvd rentals being down is that Blu Ray has a 70% lead in HD rentals, according to Blockbuster. As far as discs not working, again we need to look at hd dvd which has no protective coating like Blu Ray. A Blu Ray can be scratched as hell, but it will still play. Heat,…

Editor’s note: Bose products were not included in the article because the manufacturer did not release many of the specs.

Oh please Ken.Bose advertises in EH. They (EH) simply knows Bose is garbage and only for the uninformed. Every audiophile knows Bose SUCKS!  And what Rachael said about impedance is fine-and in a language most can understand! Good job Rachael!

I agree with John Waterman referring to your need to refresh your knowledge, but from the perspective of not allowing the advertising $$$ you receive cloud your thinking and bias your opinions. The products of the world’s most renoun inventor and researcher in sound reproduction, Dr. Bose, is not listed. So much for the credability of EH.

What paul states is true re standby power, but when the unit is fully on, thats where plasma’s problems begin, if there was no real difference, then why would plasma manufacturers be striving to reduce the power consumption also paul conviently omitted the heat problem, read my previous email,

Thanks for the article, it was informative for me, unlike some people who make it sound that they know it all. Although i’m fairly well informed regarding the video and sound matters, I was considering to use 7.1 surround, but didn’t know how I would get the source of the 7 separate channels. I was hoping to get it from…
