I’ve been hearing Fox is supposed to start supporting HD-DVD.  I didn’t hear they would can Blu-Ray, though. Still good for HD-DVD.

An honest, balanced look.  Her point on the film companies staying out of it has merit.  Especially, from a file perspective - the encoding is the same, its just a different wrapper. The answer to Rebecca’s fine, last, rhetorical question,  is, of course - “its political”!

It’s been a bit of a Ouroboros (That snake eating it’s own tail…) from the beginning. While HD DVD has been unified and standardized and more affordable from the get go,  it has also always had a studio support issue. One might assume the studios would jump on board with the format that “appeared” to be the easier to bring…

What’s pretty amazing is that 1.1 million PS2 consoles were sold. Talk about the console that just won’t die. And 2.47 million Nintendo DS units?! I thought by now everyone in the country had one. <i> And FYI, the format war between PS3 & XBox360, among gamers, is *almost* as vitriolic as the HD-DVD vs Blu-Ray format war… <i> So…

I knew the haters would be here soon! Don’t let the trolls get you down, Rebecca! I have to comment on I wish the film companies would just stay out of it, how does it in any way affect them what format their movie is purchased on? I keep trying to get my mind around this… a film company who…

What a boring and worthless article… Two pages of nothing meaningful. You’re not going to notice much difference at all between BD and HDDVD compared against each other…

The only time standalone HD-DVD sales have fallen behind standalone Blu-ray sales is when Toshiba US ran out of stock after the Black Friday sales. So it’s kind of funny that you say no one is buying given that no one has *ever* really bought Blu-ray, apart from accidenting upon it courtesy of Sony jamming it down gamer’s throats.
