I know the article is not entirely accurate, and that most components can be picked up at a fraction of the total estimate, but I don’t think he had BEST BUY in mind when he wrote this article. Perhaps he had an absolute maximum in mind and went by the old rule of thumb of “cheaper is NEVER better”. Hmmm……

If you include the PS3 numbers the variance would be even worse; I think NPD was being generous.  The PS3 accounts for something like 90% of all BluRay player sales (if included in the numbers). It’s pretty much over I think.  Maybe next time they’ll learn and not compete with the consumer caught in the middle.
