Ive got a 2Tb Netgear ReadyNAS connected to my home network(wired) with Apple Mini’s on each TV. ReadyNAS, with 2TB is around $1200 or so. The Mini’s are about $500 each. Not only do the Minis play the content from the network drive flawlessly, they also support HDMI output and 5.1 optical sound (all from that little box). To top…

See? More vitriol from the HD DVD fanbase with no supporting information.
Let’s ease up on all the name calling and insulting and *try* to act like adults. And before we start assigning ages to each other, let’s take a long hard look at the language in our own posts, shall we?

As someone who has worked at tradeshows of this kind for almost 20 years, I applaud these initial efforts to mitigate the environmental impact of shows like CES. Hopefully the next step will be to address the phyisical waste generated by the exhibits themselves: the packing and shipping materials, carpets, and other elements of the booth displays. This is a lot to expect regular consumers to go through and to pay. Personally, I’m willing to pay a bit more and do more work but my problem is that for a whole house solution you are very limited in what you can choose because a lot of these companies require that you use a dealer. I want to…

All I want/need is a box the size of a dvd player, that connects like a dvd player, controls like a dvd player and will store all of my dvds, hd dvds and music. I can place it in my rack, burn the newest media onto it and access it when I want. With the cost of a TB drive…

From what I’ve seen, there are just as many HD DVD fans calling people names over in the “Ten Reasons to Buy HD DVD” comment thread. Neither community can really claim the high ground when it comes to maturity. It’s easy to say someone is full of dis-information, but I note that “greg” and “david” don’t use any correct information…

people like darkpoet25 are the reason this “war” is so bad. 16 year olds who get a kick out of calling people dingleberries on the internet. The gamer market brings this element. Never before have younger and younger kids been so involved with home audio and video. This would be an example of why it is a bad thing. Here…

Wayne’s NY set-up was my introduction to home theatre. His creativity and enthusiasm along with brilliant execution, made the experience one I’ll never forget. I’ve seen photos of the condo theatre - beautiful! I know he’s built systems for other people - if he ever comes back to NY, I’m signing up!
